Alphonse Mucha, 1860-1939, was a Czech artist, producing a whirlwind of paintings, posters, advertisements, and book illustrations, as well as designs in jewelry, carpets, wallpaper, and theatre sets in what was termed initially The Mucha Style but became know as Art Nouveau. This beautiful poster was painted by Mucha as an advertising poster! In the 1960's, you could always find Mucha posters in coffee shops, bookstores and hippie pads. Nowadays, it seems to call for flowers, perfumes, and frothy items. Or ballet shoes. Or bottles of champagne! Let your imagination decide.
